1. Introduction

StudyExpert ("the App") is an educational platform developed by MAHMOUD ASHRAF SAID ABD EL RASOUL ("the Developer"). The App connects students, teachers, parents and educational centers through courses, lessons, live classes, quizzes, assignments, brain-training games and subscription features.

This Privacy Policy explains what personal data the App collects, how it is used, the permissions it requests, and the choices you have. By using the App you agree to the practices described in this policy.

This policy was last updated on September 2, 2026.

2. Data We Collect

Account data: your full name, email address, password (stored securely by Google Firebase Authentication), phone number, user type (student, teacher, educational center, or parent), educational stage, and your affiliation with a teacher or an educational center if you join one using an affiliation code.

Educational data: the courses and lessons you access, lesson progress and completion status, quiz and exam results, assignments, reviews, attendance records (for students affiliated with a teacher or center), certificates, achievements, experience points, and brain-game scores.

Communication data: messages you send in course chats, and your in-app search history (including voice search queries when you use that feature).

Subscription data: activation codes you redeem, your subscription plan and status, and transaction records.

Technical data: device model, operating system version, app version, push-notification token, and basic device identifiers used to secure your account and prevent abuse.

3. How We Use Your Data

We use your data to: provide your account and authenticate you; deliver courses, lessons, live classes, quizzes and assignments; track your progress and achievements; manage subscriptions and activations; send you service notifications (such as new lessons and announcements) if you enable notifications; provide in-app support; and keep the service secure and prevent fraud or abuse.

We do not sell your personal data to anyone.

4. App Permissions

The App requests only the permissions it needs, and only when the related feature is used:

Internet access: required to load content and synchronize your data.

Notifications: optional; used to deliver announcements and lesson updates. You can enable or disable notifications at any time from your device settings.

Microphone: used only when you actively start a voice search.

Camera and microphone in live classes: used only inside a live class you join, and only if you choose to turn on your camera or microphone during the meeting.

The App does not use or request access to Bluetooth, contacts, SMS, location, or the device calendar. The calendar inside the App is an internal study schedule and does not read your device calendar.

5. Third-Party Services

The App relies on trusted third-party services that process data under their own privacy policies:

Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Functions, Cloud Messaging) for accounts, data storage and notifications.

YouTube for embedding lesson videos.

Cloudflare and other hosting providers for backend services.

6. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on Google Firebase and protected by access controls and encryption in transit (HTTPS). Account passwords are handled exclusively by Firebase Authentication and are never visible to us.

We apply reasonable technical measures to protect the service, including device checks to detect abuse. However, no system can guarantee absolute security, and you should keep your password confidential.

7. Children and Students

The App serves students of different educational stages, including minors. If the user is under the legal age of consent in their country, the account must be created and this policy accepted by a parent or legal guardian.

Parents can follow their children's progress through the parent portal features. We only collect the data described in this policy, which is limited to what the educational service requires.

8. Your Rights and Choices

You have the right to access your personal data, correct it, or delete your account and data. You can exercise the right to deletion directly inside the App without contacting support:

Self-request: open the App menu, choose "Account Deletion Request", and submit your request. The request is reviewed and approved by the party responsible for your account (your teacher, your educational center, or the administration). Once approved, the deletion is executed immediately by our backend.

• Teacher or center accounts can also delete a student account directly from their student management screen after confirmation.

When your account is deleted, it is deleted permanently and completely: your sign-in identity (including your email address) is removed from Firebase Authentication, and your profile, educational progress, subscriptions, enrollments, attendance, messages, reviews, transactions, and any other data linked to your account are deleted from our databases. Deletion cannot be undone, and the same email address can be used to create a new account afterwards.

For access or correction requests, contact us through the Help Center inside the App or through the support channels published with the App on the store.

You may decline optional permissions (such as notifications) at any time from your device settings; the core features of the App will continue to work, and features that need a permission will ask for it only when used.

9. Data Retention

We retain your data as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and prevent abuse.

When your account is deleted through the in-app deletion flow (self-request, or deletion by your teacher, center, or the administration), the deletion runs on our backend and removes the Firebase Authentication identity (including the email address) together with the Firestore data linked to the account, such as the profile, subscriptions, enrollments, progress, attendance, messages, and transactions. We keep only what we must retain for legitimate legal or security reasons, and such retained records do not keep your account usable or recoverable.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes in the App or legal requirements. The updated policy is published inside the App and on this page, and the "last updated" date at the top will change. For material changes, you will be asked to review and accept the updated policy inside the App.
